Daying Ering Wildlife Sanctuary covers an area of 190 sq. km., which is located on an island. Formerly the name of the sanctuary was Mehar Sanctuary but later it was renamed as Daying Ering Wildlife Sanctuary in the memory of Dr. Daying Ering, the founder of Panchayat Raj System in the state.

Siang River is the mightiest river which flows majestically way back from Tibet (Tsangpo) and go into Karbo near Gelling. Later it merges with the mighty Brahmaputra in Assam; it is again named as Padma in Bangladesh. It finally ends its journey at the Bay of Bengal. The main tributaries are Yomgo, Yameng, Lagru and Yamne.

Kekar Monying, a mountain cliff near Rottung in East Siang district, finds an important place in the history of Arunachal. It was here that the Adi’s put up a stern resistance against the mighty British in 1911.  A stone cliff which is 500 meters in length and stands 50 meters above bearing the name of Captain Noel Williamson still lies near the Siang.
